Not receiving email notifications? Here's why and how to fix it

  • It’s come to our attention that some of you haven’t been receiving notification emails eg when you subscribe to a question and someone replies. A particular issue has been noted with those with a hotmail email address but it may affect other email clients/programmes.

There is a simple solution. You just need to mark community@connectedcoaches.org as a safe sender :)

For example when you login to your hotmail account in the top right hand corner click the icon to the right of the S

     Hotmail settings image

    Click options

Under “Preventing junk emails” click “Safe and Blocked senders”

    Click “Safe senders”

Where it then says “Sender or domain to mark as safe:” insert the following email address community@connectedcoaches.org

Then you should receive the notification emails from ConnectedCoaches!

  • It has come to our attention that the community email address (community@connectedcoaches.org) has been blacklisted by SpamCannibal (a free software toolkit that some people use to prevent spam reaching their mailbox). We are currently working on discovering the reason for them listing it! Once we have we will hopefully have a solution to their issue before going through their process of getting it unlisted.

In the meantime if you use SpamCannibal this will mean you won’t receive:

    • email notifications from ConnectedCoaches e.g. if you subscribe to a conversation, follow a blog and there is a comment. However, you should still be able to see the notifications when logged in on your notifications tab.
    • Welcome to ConnectedCoaches email – automatically sent out when you join the community.
    • Daily digest emails – daily summary activity email that automatically get sent out listing activity in the groups you have chosen to join
    • Friend requests - if you send a friend request the person you sent it to might not receive it if you or they use SpamCannibal.

Apologies for the inconvenience this causes.

We hope to have to matter resolved soon. However to a large extent it’s outside our control as it will depend on how responsive SpamCannibal are once we have corrected their issue with the email address.

    Thanks

    Rob

Just to provide an update we have now been removed from this list! However the frequency with which email clients (e.g. hotmail) “look up/cross reference” against these lists can be rather random so although we have been removed it might take a little bit more time before you’re receiving these notifications as normal. Thanks for your patience
